Kraken Erg: Brentwood Indoor Regatta

Rules and Elegibility

Weigh-In Details:

  • Lightweight Men = 75kgs
  • Lightweight Women = 65kgs
  • The test scales will be open one hour before the first race
  • The official weigh-in scales will open 2 hours before the first scheduled Lightweight race

IMPORTANT: 

  • It is strongly recommended that junior athletes do not cut weight to race in a lightweight category.
  • Lightweight rowers shall be weighed wearing nothing less than their racing uniform on tested scales not less than one (1) hour and not more than two (2) hours before their first lightweight race. 
  • Each athlete will have one attempt at weighing in.  Failure to weigh-in will result in being moved to the Open category’s results.

 

Category Details:

Jr C | U15

  • Age 14 and under until December 31 of the cometition year. 

Jr B | U17

  • Age 16 and under until December 31 of the cometition year. 

Jr A | U19

  • Age 18 and under until December 31 of the cometition year. 

Sr B | U23

  • Age 22 and under until December 31 of the cometition year.

Sr A | Open Age

  • Open to all ages.  Any athlete may compete in this event.

Novice

  • A athlete can compete as a novice as long as they started rowing in the current academic year. 

Para Races

  • Refer to the Adaptive Rowing Classifications used by Rowing Canada.

Coxswain

  • Racing / training experience limited to the role of coxswain.  There are no age or weight restrictions.

Masters Categories

  • The age of a Master shall be that age which they attain on or after Januray 1 of the cometition year.

Masters rowing events shall be held in the following crew age categories:

  • AA. 21 year minimum and 26 year maximum
  • A. 27 years or more
  • B. 36 years or more
  • C. 43 years or more
  • D. 50 years or more
  • E. 55 years or more
  • F. 60 years or more
  • G. 65 years or more
  • H. 70 years or more
  • I. 75 years or more
  • J. 80 years or more
  • K. 85 years or more

 

Concept 2 Infrastructure:

  • There will be 30 new C2 test machines
  • There will be over 60 C2 warm-up and cool-down machines
  • There will be a bank of spin bikes for warm-up and cool-down 

 

Race Information and Awards:

  • The Kraken Erg wants to provide a race for everyone - please contact organizers if we have missed you
  • Events with low registration numbers may be combined to shorten the event day
  • Awards will be given out in every event
    • Hammers will be awards to winner of events with 6 or more competitors
    • Tee Shirts will be given out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in events with 6 or more competitiors
    • Winner Certificates and a Tee Shirt will be given out to the winners of events with 6 or less competitors
  • Events with more than 24 entries will run multiple waves, with the overall winner being presented with an award
