Gator Head Regatta
- Hosted By: Gainesville Area Rowing, Inc.
COURSE AND TRAFFIC PATTERN: Launch from UF dock and follow the large orange BEMA buoys south to the staging buoys. Keep the large buoys to your starboard side. The chute will have additional buoys and then another large orange buoy to mark the start of the race. Pink buoys will be placed every 100 meters and crews will need to keep them on their starboard side for the length of the race. At the 2K mark, there will be 2 pink buoys connected to each other, this will also mark the starting line for the middle school race. The finish of the 5k race will be marked by two buoys as well as a finish line boat. After completing the race, please row away from the finish line, towards shore, spin your boat, and recover at the GAR dock. Please note that crews will need to walk from the team tent area located at the GAR boathouse, to the UF field to get their boats, launch from the UF dock, recover at the GAR dock, and walk boats back to the UF field. Shoes are encouraged, please take them in the boat with you.
