The Rock River Valley YMCA Rowing Club will hold its 37th annual regatta on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Thanks to sponsors, club members and volunteers the Head of the Rock continues to offer participants and spectators a first-rate experience in a beautiful rowing venue. Please continue the tradition of racing on the Rock River and join us in 2023!

We are excited to announce that the Hampton Inn - Rockford has joined the Head of the Rock Regatta this year as the Official Regatta Hotel Partner!  The Hampton Inn is offering reduced room rates for all regatta visitors.  Please visit the Hampton Inn Suites website for the regatta reservation page with availability and discounted room rates.  Additional information is available under that Lodging tab on this website.

Regatta Features:

• A 5,000 meter (3.1 mile) course on the Rock River with may ideal locations for spectators
• Professional timing services from TRI-3 Timing employing FinishLynx cameras at Start/Finish
• 2 split times are reported 
• Results will be available at TBD
• Special reserved parking for car top singles and doubles on first-come basis.
• The venue is open for practice on Saturday, October 7, sunup to sundown. Practice is at your own risk. There are no safety personnel on the river. The practice boat trafficpattern is posted in the boathouse.  Also, see the Venue tab for a map.
• Bring your bicycle, most of the race course has a bike path running parallel to it.
