UVic first hosted the Monster Erg in 1985. After hosting the event for 35+ years, UVic has decided to no longer host an indoor event. In 2023 Brentwood College School will host The Kraken Erg: Brentwood Indoor Regatta to fill the gap left by the Monster Erg no longer happening.
