HogTog Merch Shop has Hoodies, shirts, and hats available for pre-order until October 18.    Order & pay now, and we will have your order ready for pickup at regatta check-in.   A limited number of items will be for sale on-site during the regatta, at prices higher than in the pre-order store.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED: Be a part of running this iconic regatta!  Many of the volunteer jobs don’t require rowing experience. We encourage the broader Victoria community to participate.  A volunteer signup will be available soon. In the meantime, contact [email protected]

ABOUT THIS REGATTA

The Head & Tail of the Gorge regatta is an iconic BC event, featuring exciting racing and spectacular viewing opportunities, in the heart of beautiful Victoria BC. Teams attend from across BC, Alberta, and the Pacific Northwest, with some coming from as far away as the Maritimes or Europe.

The unique highlight of this regatta is conquering the exciting tides and currents of Tillicum Narrows, both during the race, and in order to get to the start or return to the extraction point.

Video: The "Angel of the Narrows" guides crews through the narrows as they row from the launch site to the Head of the Gorge Starti line, or from the Tail of the Gorge Finish line back to the launch site.

Video: Shooting the rapids during the actual race

Most crews wear costumes for Saturday racing, and there are prizes for best costume.

Esquimalt Gorge Park, and its beautiful new indoor pavilion provide an excellent launch site and socializing opportunities after racing.

Gorge Narrows Rowing Club is proud to have taken over hosting this regatta, with a focus on community and bringing together athletes, volunteers and community members to share an appreciation for the gorge waterway and the sport of rowing.

We give thanks to the Lekwungen People of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, whose traditional lands and waterways we share daily.
