Children of Members
At least one parent must be a member. Good through age 22. Children under 18 are not permitted in singles; they may only row in a double or larger boat with a parent or another OBC member at least 20 years of age. At age 18, children of members must undergo orientation and certification (sculling test in single) if they want to row a club single.

OBC Donations
As of 2024, OBC has proudly awarded more than $105,000 in scholarships to rowers needing financial assistance from a multitude of different high schools that row on the Occoquan. Contributions to the Julia Shew Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization administered by OBC, are tax deductible.
