Erg Rodeo 2024 Rules and Procedures

Health & Safety

Texas Crew has hired a sports trainer to serve the needs of any individuals who may experience an emergency during raceday. If any competitor has a pre-existing condition that may be a cause for concern, please notify the sports trainer before you race.

Registration

We highly encourage those in charge of submitting entries to provide an erg time (not split) for their athlete. This can be an estimated erg time if the participant has not yet completed a 2k (or 1k) at the time of registration.

Check-in

All competitors need to arrive at least an hour early to register and warm-up for their individual races. The only exception to this rule are events 1-10 that MUST check in at least thirty minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Check-in for the first event will begin one hour before the first race. The first race will begin at 8:00am. Please note that you must register online and there will be no same-day registration. You MUST check in for your event at least one hour prior to the scheduled time. Athletes who check in later than one hour before their event may be able to race in that event, or a later scheduled event, but will not be eligible for a trophy.

All individual events are 2000 meters unless otherwise specified and all times listed are approximate. In events requiring multiple heats, we will attempt to group competitors from slowest to fastest, in ascending order, based on entry-form predicted times. All competitors will pull only once and racing should conclude no later than 5:00pm. Please plan to arrive at least an hour and a half before your event so that check-in, warm-ups, and racing can all run smoothly.

Lightweight Weigh-In

Lightweights must weigh-in on race day at least one hour before their scheduled start time, and we recommend that you arrive at least an hour and a half before your race to ensure that you have time for check-ins, weigh-ins, and warm-up. You must check in before weigh-ins. Competitors who do not make weight should still plan on racing in their original lightweight heat. If time permits, we may move them to a heavyweight heat, but this is not guaranteed (either way their results will be included with their heavyweight competitors' time). Weigh-in begins at 7am.

Schedule

Event times are approximate and the schedule is subject to change. The schedule as printed on race day is the best estimate of when an event will begin. Rowers and coaches should allow sufficient time before and after their scheduled event to accommodate any adjustments in timing that may be required. As event registrations (numbers of rowers) dictate, it is also possible that more than one event will be conducted at the sametime. Please listen for calls before the start of each heat. We will do our best to keep to the schedule and make announcements as needed. The rower's cooperation is always appreciated.

Awards and Prizes

Belt Buckle Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each event.

Open Adaptive

While we are happy to accommodate rowers of all types, we are unable to provide additional equipment beyond ergs. If you plan on racing in the open adaptive event and require supplemental equipment, please plan on bringing it and setting it up prior to your event.

Interpretation of Rules

The meaning and application of this information will be determined solely by the Erg Rodeo Committee and all decisions will be final. Schedules will be updated, as needed, based on entries.
