MEDALS:

We are a bit short this year, but junior and collegiate rowers will all receive gold, silver, or bronze medals. Unfortunately, masters will only receive gold medals this year.

EVENTS SCHEDULE:

We just tweaked it a bit to allow more junior varsity rowers to participate in two events. This pertains to the varsity eights, fours, quads, and doubles. The start times of the three flights are 9 am, 11:15 am, and 1:30 pm.  This will allow boats to get off the docks before we start launching the next flight, avoiding two-way traffic and congestion on the hill.

RULES OF ROWING:

WE WILL GENERALLY ADHERE TO U.S. ROWING'S 2023 RULES OF ROWING Rules Of Rowing 2023 FINAL PDF - USRowing.  It is worth taking some time to peruse that document. For example, it contains detailed information about safety, conduct, penalties, and age brackets. One noteworthy exception for this regatta: We will not enforce item 4-105-1; Coxswains' minimum weight.

“SHELLSHOCK” MARKETPLACE:

New for 2023: A 6-hour pop-up marketplace for used boats and oars

We will cordon off an area close to the boathouse for clubs to stage boats (or equipment) that you would like to sell or give away. Attach a description to the boat with a price and contact information, and then see if you get any bites. The idea is that if there is a match and an agreeable transaction, the buying team can just load the boat onto their own trailer.

Some old boats just deserve to die after a long life of hard service. So, even though one club’s crap may be another club’s treasure, we discourage you from bringing boats that are overly dilapidated. If a boat really should be cut up and scrapped, just do it. SHELLSHOCK is ideal for equipment that still has some useful life left, for the right loving owner.

CBRC will not charge for this service and will not get involved with the transactions. This year we just want to experiment to see if there is a need for such a marketplace. If your boats or equipment don't sell, you are required to load them back onto your trailer again (unless it's a brand new Empacher that you would like to donate to us ...)
