DIRECTIONS

Prospect Park is located on Prospect Rd, which is accessible from Hickman Rd from the east, and MLK Jr Pkway from the west. The best route is to take I-235 to Exit 7 (Keo-Way / MLK Jr Pkwy / 19th St) and go North on 19th St (which will merge back into MLK Jr Pkwy).  Go east (right turn) on Hickman Rd, and then left on Prospect Rd. You will see parking signs and attendants to your right.

PARKING AT PROSPECT PARK

• Trailers in the big lot diagonally and also parallel to the street.
• There will be no parking on either side of Prospect Park in the main park area in case emergency vehicles need through.  The parking lot where the ramp goes into the river is reserved for handicapped and regatta officials and regatta personnel including key volunteers.
• The small parking lot near the shelter is for cars topping their singles or doubles. 
• Buses should go to the parking lot just east of MLK Jr Pkwy, on the south side of Prospect Rd. (across from the school bus lot). Addional parking for spectators is also available here. We will have a large passenger van making rounds to transport people to and from this parking lot.
• First aid, announcer table, PA system and command commission will be close to the ramp between our launch dock and retrieval staging areas.
• Registration tent and T-shirt sales will be positioned near the park shelter.
• Park restrooms will be locked until mid-day as they historically can’t handle our numbers. Port-a-johns will be located nearby the restrooms.
• Teams can find good locations to set up a home base along the river bank and anywhere else on the park grounds.

SPECTATORS

Spectators are sure to catch some exciting finishes and watch crews launch throughout the day at Prospect Park. The Botanical Center is also a great spot to view race starts; or you can catch a mid-race view with a mid-race brew at Captain Roy's!  Additional viewing: along the Birdland Drive bike trail betweeen the 6th Ave brdige and Birdland Marina; and from the south end of Riverview Park, overlooking the "gut" of the race course.

FOOD

We will not be having food trucks at Prospect Park this year.
Des Moines Rowing will be selling sports drinks and small snacks at the Registration tent.

MERCHANDISE

HOTDM shirts, tanks, posters & stickers will be sold at the Prospect Park Registration tent. Cash and credit only.
