Competitions:
Individual erg competitions will consist of one race for a given category. All individual events are capped at 24 entries. Top three times win.
The 2x Team events are capped at 12 entries and will be a direct final.
The 4x Team events are capped at 12 entries and if fully subscribed, will consist of two heats with the top three winners going to a final.
The 8x Team events are capped at 9 entries and if fully subscribed, will consist of three heats with the winner of each heat going to a final.
If, after the close of entries, the ergatta committee determines that there would be insufficient time to complete all the competitions there will be heats only and the winners will be selected from the best times for first, second, and third place medals..
In the instance where there are only three competitors, there will be a first and second place medal. In the instance where there are only two competitors, there will be a first place medal. If there is only one entry for a given category, the entry will be moved up to the next competitive level, or the entry will be given the option to scratch with a refund.
Registration:
Team erg competitions on Regatta Central will mirror a boat entry for an on-the-water regatta: a team name will be entered, and the names of the participants for the team entered. Team (boat) names are encouraged to be creative, playful, and mildly baudy.
For individual events, there will still be the option of entering a team/boat name and you are certainly welcome to use whatever creative name you like.
For those on the down low (DL), you can provide an alias for your athlete name that will display on the heat sheets and the results. We encourage everyone to use their real name but we certainly understand if you feel hesitant.
Since the Sin City Erg is requiring all participants to register, you may select unaffiliated instead of your rowing program or school,. If you want to add your rowing program or school and it is not listed in the registration, be it from the US or from another country, there is a way to add your program directly through Regatta Central
Fees:
Entry fees for the Sin City Erg will consist of a per participant fee and and entry fee
- The participant fee is US$30
- The entry fees are per event and are priced accodring to early, regular, and late registraiton:
- early: US$2.50
- regular: US$7.50
- late: US$12.50
- You may enter as many events as you like, and that your legs and body can handle. We had hoped to create a registration requirement that mandated one entry fee and one individual entry and one team entry. Unfortunately, the registration system is not configured to do that so we just wholeheartedly urge all participants to compete at least once in an individual event and at least once in a team event.
Each Sin City Erg participant will receive the following:
(1) Sin City Classic wristband, no matter how many entries they have submitted or teams with which they compete.
(1) Sin City Erg t-shirt
