COVID Protocols

Illinois currently has no COVID-based restrictions. This page will be updated in the event of any changes. We recommend that rowers be vaccinated.

Registration

• Early registration is encouraged. This is a large regatta. Although we are prepared for a large number of participants and boats, there is a limit to the number of boats that can be safely and efficiently launched and retrieved for each event. Entries may close earlier that the stated deadline.
• In order to ensure your spot in our event, we request you pay by credit card at time of registration. We will honor all registrations by college and university teams who will be paying through their schools' regular channels.
• Event times in the event list are to serve as guidelines. The schedule order of events will not change, but exact times between events may change. All changes will be posted once available. The Final event schedule will be available early on Friday, October 7, 2022 and will be placed in the event packets. Please review the final schedule when you receive it.

Refunds

After the entry deadline, there will be no refunds of entry fees for accepted boats. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be issued for events that are beyond the control of the regatta, such as severe weather and flooding.

Handicapped Times

• The Head of the Rock Regatta uses the US Rowing handicap formula.
• Handicaps are applied to all Masters events within the brackets.

Lightweight Events

• Lightweight weigh-ins are open at 7:00 am at the back of the Boathouse
• Competitors need only weigh in once, but must display proof of weight before launching in a lightweigh event.

Medals and Awards

Medals are awarded based on the number of entries in an event.  Overall Points Award plaques are presented at the "Club" and "collegiate" levels.
