Junior B: Under 17, cannot turn 17 in the year of competition.

Junior A: Under 19, cannot turn 19 in the year of competition.

Senior B: Under 23, cannot turn 23 in the year of competition.

Senior A: Open

Master: Age 27 or greater. The Garrett-Zezza table of age handicaps will be applied (See end of this bulletin for tables)

Novice: Athletes who began rowing on or after September 1st, 2021

Lightweight Women:  61 kg max

Lightweight Men:  74 kg max

Note: There are no weight categories for junior, novice, and master events.  There will be weigh-ins between 8:30 and 10:45am or at least 30 minutes before the athlete’s race. There is no limit on the number of weigh-ins. In the case of an athlete not meeting the lightweight weight, they will still race in the Lightweight event, but they will be placed in the corresponding non-lightweight event (i.e. Senior A or B).

The following Covid-19 protocol must be followed:

All athletes, helpers and spectators to read the following and sign the registration document in the case that:

  1. They do not currently have any of the symptoms indicated below.
  2. Have not tested positive or had symptoms within the last 10 days.

Any person who does not meet the above conditions will not be allowed to enter the race area in the Field House.

All persons within the event area (identified by the curtain across the gym area) shall wear a mask at all times, unless rowing on an erg.

A limited number of “coxies” (max 6) will be allowed to stand 2m behind the racing athletes.

Spectators and rowers who are not being weighed-in, on the warm-up ergs or racing, should go to the bleachers.

Athletes shall use the sanitizing materials for sterilizing the warm-up erg handles after use. The race ergs will be sanitized between each race by a helper.

Government statement regarding Covid-19.

Symptoms may take up to 14 days to appear after exposure to COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccines remain effective at preventing severe COVID-19 illness and death. However, vaccines are not 100% effective and you may still become infected with or without symptoms.

Some of the more commonly reported symptoms include:

  • new or worsening cough
  • sore throat / painful swallowing
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • temperature equal to or more than 38°C
  • feeling feverish
  • chills
  • runny nose / nasal congestion
  • fatigue or weakness
  • muscle or body aches
  • new loss of smell or taste
  • unexplained loss of appetite
  • headache
  • abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting
  • feeling very unwell
