Eastern Rowing Association was founded in 1921 by Brockville RC, Ottawa RC and Lachine RC. The three clubs just wanted a regatta prior to the Royal Canadian Henley to prepare their best crews. In 1921, the first ERA regatta was completed after a total of... Seven races ! Today, a century later, the ERA regatta is a full two-day regatta held at the Montreal Olympic Basin and clubs from Quebec, Ontario, New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and the United States are racing for medals, but also for the Comstock Trophy which was presented for the first time in 1925.
