Capital Rowing Club is pleased to announce the 8th annual Capital Sprints Regatta, to be held on Saturday, July 21st!! Please set aside this date on your summer racing schedules to come to the Anacostia for a day of great racing and fun!
The race will be held at the Anacostia Community Boathouse. All races will be 1000 meters. We will run Junior, Open and Master's categories in each event where there is interest. (Note: there will not be age categories in the Novice events) We will be recognizing the AA Master's category again this year and hope to be able to provide great competition for all entry interests.
Capital will try our best to accommodate everyone's equipment needs. We may be able to trailer locally to pick up racing shells. Also, we are prepared to work out arrangements to lend our shells to accommodate teams that may not be able to bring their own.
As has become the tradition at Capital, we will have Hat Races to cap off the day. Please plan to stick around and participate in these fun events. (Registration for these events will take place on race day.)
We will again host a picnic to feed the competitors and their fans following the races! Capital will provide the hearty food (hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, etc) and we will ask all of our guests to help out with the side dishes and drinks. Our Social Chair will be in touch to give you the details of this closer to race day.
