The closest major grocery store is Meijer, on Alpine Ave., which is also surrounded by a bunch of run of the mill fast food restaurants. There are also a few fast food and sit down restaurants nearby on West River Drive in the small village of Comstock Park.
(Other good options are “Downtown”, in the nearby "Creston" neighborhood, or on “Alpine” Avenue).
Of course, while we don't want your performance on the water to be affected, don't forget that Grand Rapids was voted Beer City USA in 2012 and 2013, and Best Beer Town in the country by USA Today and 10Best.
