  • Cancelled

Novice Category:  A novice is a coxswain or a rower who has not competed before June 1, 2014. Coxswains who wish to become rowers may race as a novice rower for one year, regardless of their coxing experience. However, rowers that become coxswains may not race as a Novice if they competed in rowing before 6/1/14.

NOTE: Novice quads may be rowed configured as 4x or as 4x+.
The Womens Jr. Novice 1x will be limited to A and B entries per team. In case of oversubscription, we will conduct a draw.

Lightweight Events: US Rowing rules will be followed. US Rowing weights will be used. Weigh-ins will be conducted from 6:30-8 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12 noon on race day at Regatta Central.

Master's Categories: Age Handicap from US Rowing will be used. Minimum age for Masters Participants is they must turn 21 years of age in the year 2014.

Race Distances: All Junior and Open/Collegiate races will be 2000M. All Masters and Mixed races will be 1000M.

Rankings: It is important that coaches give their best boats 'A' ranking, their next best boat "B' ranking, etc. That is how the order will be arranged in finals-only races, and it will assist with seeding in the heat-to-final races.

Entry Fee Structure: 1x's: $30.00, 2x’s: $45.00, 4x/4+: $65.00, 8's: $95.00 Entries at the regular fee close on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Late entries are available until Tuesday, March 3 at double the normal entry fee (i.e., $60 for a 1x, $80 for a 2x/2-, etc.), and only if an open lane is available.

There will be NO WALK UP ENTRIES ACCEPTED at the Regatta.

Boat rental is the same price as the entry fee and would include practice time in the shell.

Scratch deadline:  No credit or refunds will be given for scratched entries after the close of Standard Registration.

Entry Numbers: Please understand events with only one entry will not be run. Events that have only one club entered with multiple entries will be run, but points will not be awarded.

Junior Points and Awards

Junior Championship: Men's and Women's team points will be calculated based on the table below, which is similar to the guidelines used by US Rowing.  Organizations with multiple entries will only receive points for the highest-placed entry.  All boats entered in an event, regardless of what program they are from, will be counted as boats entered in the event when calculating points.  There must be at least two entries from different programs in order for points to be awarded toward the overall Junior Championship.

Arizona Junior Championship: Rules same as above, except that there must be at least two Arizona teams in an event to receive points toward the perpetual Men's and Women's AZ State Jr. Champion trophies.

There will be no Junior points awarded for Mixed, Open, or Masters Events. The award ceremony will be conducted near Regatta Central approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of racing.
