The Melbourne Head course starts 50 meters downstream of "The Big Bend" between Grange Road and Williams Road, and finishes opposite MUBC. The Junior Head starts opposite Caroline Street, and finishes opposite MUBC.

Finish Zone

The river is closed for the whole of the course, but open to ferry traffic once past the diagonal line in the picture below. Ferries berthing at federation wharf must turn across the river, and across the paths of boats which have finished racing. Competitors must take care.
