Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge

Inaugural Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge kicks off Saturday
Individuals from across Canada and around the world will be rising to the challenge this weekend and competing in the Canadian Indoor Rowing Challenge, a new RCA event for rowers and fitness enthusiasts.
This virtual competition gives anyone with access to a Concept2 rowing machine the opportunity to participate in 500m, 1000m and 2000m races by submitting their results online on November 7 and 8.
Over 370 individuals are currently registered, including a number of Para rowers from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Ecuador.
“We are achieving something that seemed impossible, the American continent literally united from North to South, hand in hand, with rowing,” said Stephen Briguglio, Head Coach Para-Rowing Argentina. “Thank you, Canada, for helping us make this possible.”
Saturday November 7 will feature the 2000m HomeRace Challenge events, which will see individuals race in real-time against RCA National Training Centre athletes, including Concept2 World Record holders Will Crothers and Jeremy Hall.
The HomeRace Challenge events will be broadcast live on RCA’s YouTube channel and Facebook page starting at 8:50am PST on November 7. The broadcast will be hosted by 2014 men’s coxed four World U23 Champion Trofym Anderson.
Individuals not taking part in the HomeRace Challenge can register to submit their race scores up until 11:50pm PST on Sunday November 8 (late fees will apply).
All Canadian registrants will be entered into a draw for the grand prize of an indoor rowing machine. The top three finishers in each race category will receive a digital certificate, and Canadian certificate recipients will be entered into a draw for one of 12 RCA merchandise packages.
