Boats without Barriers

  • Hosted By: East Bay Rowing Club

Holding a regatta at our JLAC boathouse and rowing on the Oakland Estuary, an active boating channel, requires special considerations, so please read the following important information.

Race Course: This course map shows the JLAC launch dock, warm-up, staging, and 1000-meter race areas from the north end of Coast Guard Island in Brooklyn Basin to the JLAC Cove. Crews should be prepared for the excitement and beauty of rowing on the Oakland Estuary. Last year’s weather was near-perfect, and although we cannot control the wind or the tide, we’ll do our best to keep pleasure boaters from wandering onto the course.
