Welcome to the Langley Pond 5K Small Boat Regatta!
On behalf of the Augusta Rowing Club, Aiken County Parks and Recreation, Langley Pond Rowing Venue, and all of our sponsors and vendors, we wish to welcome out-of-town rowers, coaches, and visitors to the new Langley Pond 5K Small Boat Regatta! We also extend a cordial invitation to all area residents to come and watch the competition on the beautiful Langley Pond and to join in the festivities.
The race course on Langley Pond will give participants a fun opportunity to row a 5K on a 2K course, completing one left and one right turn in order to row the entire 5K. The course starts just down from the traditional starting line and finishes at the tower. There are new spectator viewing areas at the 600 m, 1000 m, 1250 m, and finish line.
We hope that teams from around the southeast will see ithis new regatta as a great way to finish up summer rowing, test their skills in sculling boats, and transition into the fall head race season. Of course, we could not hold this regatta without the support of the local community and city governments, businesses, sports councils and affiliations as well as our local area sponsors and volunteers. Whenever possible, please support our business partners and vendors, and take a moment to thank our hardworking volunteers for their time and efforts in making this regatta a success.
Thank you,
Kirsten Aylward
