Rowing Canada Aviron Rules of Racing will be followed with the following variances:

• Composite crews will be allowed provided they are identified at the time of registration.

• Masters racing will be using the current RCA Garrett system to calculate handicaps based on a distance of 1000m and using a multiplier of 4 to account for race distance (4000m).

Penalties will be assessed for missed buoys, e.g. 1 minute for missing the turning buoy at the end of the course plus 20 seconds for each additional buoy cut off at the end of the course.

No passing to occur in the final 100m before the turn. Crews that continue to pass in the no passing zone may be charged with interference and may be subject to penalties and/or disqualification. If a crew, on entering the no pass zone, is being pressed by a crew behind them, the crew in front should take a wider turn to allow the faster boat to take the inside lane.

Scoring for the overall winner for each boat class is as follows:

4 K TT: 1st = 2 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 6 points, etc.

250 Sprint: 1st = 1 point, 2nd =2 points, 3rd = 3 points, etc. 

Lowest point total is the overall winner
