We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Quinsigamond Snake Regatta. Please read the following closely as there are NUMEROUS changes to this year’s regatta procedures.
- THE SCHEDULE WILL BE UPDATED ON FRIDAY. CURRENT SCHEDULE CAN BE VIEWED ON REGATTA CENTRAL.
- Please Check http://snake.qra.org for bow number assignments on Friday.
- Course Maps can be found at: http://snake.qra.org/SnakeCourse.pdf.
- Crews will be launched in bow number order and only during the window of time of 60’ to 40’ prior to race time. Please be aware of what bow numbers are launching. If you arrive to the dock early or out of order your crew will be asked to hold the boat near the dock for an extended time or be sent back to your trailer.
- All launching and race viewing will be from the Donahue Rowing Center (DRC). Spectators are asked to NOT enter Regatta Point State Park for race viewing.
- Bow numbers will be available at 6:30 am in the DRC clubhouse.

- The following traffic pattern will be reviewed at this meeting:
- Traffic to the Start will be along the eastern shore (Shrewsbury side of lake). Boats will proceed under Rt. 9 to the left of the center abutment.
- Race traffic will be along the western shore (Worcester side of lake). Boats will race under Rt. 9 to the left of the center abutment.
- A line of buoys will divide the lake. Buoys will be at a minimum of 100 meter intervals. Coxswains should keep buoys on their starboard side.
- Immediately following the race all crews MUST clear the finish area. Row towards Rt. 290 and turn clockwise around the large white buoy that marks the end of the finish area. Failure to adhere to this traffic pattern may result in disqualification.

- Rules of racing are expected to be conveyed to athletes directly by coaches.
- Trailer parking and TEAM BUSES will park at the State boat ramp adjacent to DRC. NO OTHER VEHICLES WILL BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE BOAT RAMP. Coaches should coordinate with Parent Groups to carry tents/food etc. to the clubhouse as NO VEHICLES WILL BE PERMITTED INTO THE RAMP OR DRC PROPERTY.
- Spectators may park on N. Quinsigamond Ave. north of the boat ramp property or at in the back parking lot at Shrewsbury High School. A SHUTTLE BUS WILL RUN BETWEEN THE DRC AND SHREWSBURY HIGH SCHOOL FROM 7:00 AM TO 2:00 PM. We strongly recommend that spectators use the Shrewsbury High School parking and shuttle bus. A map showing the Shrewsbury High School Lot is attached.
- There is NO PARKING at the U.S. Postal Distribution Center across the street from the boat ramp. Also, DO NOT USE THE PROPERTY FOR WARM UP RUNS, ETC!
- No visitor parking in the Boathouse parking lots. Visitors should park along N. Quinsigamond Ave. north of the DRC (toward I-290) or at the Shrewsbury High School back. NO VEHICLES WITHOUT DRC PARKING PASSES SHOULD ENTER THE DRC PROPERTY. THIS IS A TOWN LOT THAT IS PERMIT PARKING ONLY. POLICE WILL TICKET AND TOW ANY VEHICLE INSIDE THE FENCE WITHOUT A PASS!
- Visiting athletes are asked to refrain from using the DRC Restrooms. Portable toilets are available in the trailer parking area.
- All tents should be set up along chain-link fence on south side of DRC property.
- Please be sure that ALL garbage from your tents and/or trailer area is disposed of in the dumpsters located behind the boathouse.
- It is important that ALL athletes in your line ups have completed the USRowing Waiver, SafeSport Certification and are listed as “Compliant” on RegattaCentral! All athletes must be listed as compliant before 6 pm on Friday, 10/14. Boats with any athletes that are not listed as compliant will not receive a bow number and will not be permitted to launch and race. As a USRowing sanctioned event all competitors must be compliant. PLEASE CONFIRM THAT ALL OF YOUR ENTRIES ARE COMPLIANT ON FRIDAY! Any issues will need to be cleared up by USRowing in advance. We cannot make any changes or updates to lineups on the day of the event and will not be able to make any exceptions.
