Daylight Savings Ends - Time Change  

A quick reminder: Daylight Savings time ends Sunday, November 6th at 2 am.  The clocks will turn one hour back at this time.  Sunrise will be about an hour earlier on Sunday than Saturday.  Please enjoy the extra hour of sleep the Waco Rowing Regatta is providing you on race day.

Rules of Rowing 

As a USRowing sanctioned regatta, we follow USRowing Rules of Rowing  unless otherwise stated.

Weigh-Ins

For the protection of staff, referees and teams, we will not be conducting official weigh-ins.  We expect teams to honor the weight requirements as detailed in the USRowing rules of Rowing for their lightweight entries.

Safe Sport

The Waco Rowing Center is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for rowers, coaches, and coxswains at our regattas through our adherence to  Safe Sport. Our campaign, adopted in conjunction with USRowing and the United States Olympic Committee, is focused on raising awareness and stopping abuse in rowing.

The Waco Rowing Center’s Safe Sport Policy adheres to the guidelines and mandates set out by the governing body for all things rowing in the United States, USRowing.  USRowing Safe Sport Policy Manual

These policies govern all Waco Rowing Center coaches, volunteers, and regatta participants/patrons/volunteers.

Entry Form and Waiver 

No paper entries will be accepted for this event. Entries will only be accepted through the Waco Rowing Regatta registration page on Regatta Central:

Please be sure to register before the  Standard Registration Deadline. Entries received after the Standard entry registration deadline will not be accepted. 

This regatta is a USRowing sanctioned event. As such, each athlete must complete the USRowing  Waiver in order to participate in this regatta: https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/waiver.jsp?job_id=7823&org_id=0 

Check-in/Packet Pickup 

Participants and teams may check in at the gazebo in the center of  Brazos Park East from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th, and from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 6th. All participants must be checked in by 7:30 a.m. on race day for all events or we will consider your entries scratched. 

Coaches/Coxswains/Scullers Meeting

The Coaches, Coxswains and Scullers  Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 5th  at 5:00 PM CST.  Coaches and competitors are responsible for all information shared at this meeting.

Water Practice and Race Traffic Pattern

The WRR traffic pattern follows a counter-clockwise pattern, keeping the shore to starboard and centerline of the river to port.  The traffic pattern is the same for both the practice and race days.  

On Water Practice Saturday

Trailers will be allowed to park and unload beginning at Noon on Saturday, November 5th. Practicing is allowed on Saturday from noon to 6pm. On Saturday the course is considered “open,” and there may be public use of the waterway.  Please be  aware of any recreational boat traffic on the waterway.  We will have a  presence on the water to help manage public boat traffic, but to reiterate the waterway will not be closed.  
 

Bow Balls and Competitor Numbers

No shell may be launched on the practice day without a bow ball, and no shell may be launched without a bow ball and bow number on race day. At registration, each race entry will be given a bow number, as well as a number bib with safety pins to be attached to the back of the coxswain and bow seat. Please feel free to retain your bow number post race as a memento of your Waco Rowing Regatta experience.  Heel ties will be checked on race day  before launching. There will be random heel tie checks/reminders  the day before and day of by volunteers walking around.

Schedule Updating 

Depending on the number of entries for each event,, the preliminary schedule may change. The Final Schedule will be available  to competitors and coaches by November 1st.

Results and Awards 

Results will be posted online and  linked through Regattacentral.com.  First place medals will be awarded 

Trailer Parking 

Trailers can be stored in the Northern end of the Brazos Park East Parking Lot. If you plan to park your trailer in the lot, please contact [email protected] to secure your spot and receive further instructions on trailer parking  location as well as  arrival and departure times.  

Boat Storage 

Boats and Trailers can be stored near trailers in the Northern end of the Brazos Park East Parking Lot.  Trailers will sit on the concrete lot near the boat ramp, and boats will be stored on the adjacent grass.  The park is gated and we will have overnight security on site from Saturday evening to Sunday morning..  

Competitor and Spectator Parking

Parking within Brazos Park East and specific areas will be limited to staff, vendors, EMTs,  timers and referees.  That said, there is ample parking on the grass along the side of the road on N MLK BLVD, with easy walking access to the park. 

Food and Beverage 

We will have food and beverage trucks/stands on site.
