Happy January 2023
The regatta is still "ON". Yes we realize we have had a streak of bad luck with mother nature in the last couple of years but the weeds are cleared and the lanes are currently being put in 2 days per week. The course will be complete by valentines day.
The schedule is NEW this year. It is untested. It is a new concept that we believe you will grow to embrace...
The varsity 8's are the first events of the day. Collegiate, then Junior. and following through all of the eights before we get to the fours, quads, pairs, doubles, and finally singles will be last. This is for several reasons. The primary reason is that the vast majority of teams hold the eights to be the most important events at the regatta so they will get the best water and will race with the "freshest" athletes. Now coaches who wish to double or triple row their athletes can do so without risking performance in the eights.
Another important reason, this will allow you to load your trailer from the top down throughout the day saving most teams an extra hour getting loaded and getting out of town. The schedule will allow teams to get ready and get moving sooner. Some collegiate teams will only race the eights on their way down to spring training, or on their way home from spring training. They can load up and get out of town early in the morning.
We believe this will help the majority of teams out there. If we are wrong, we will learn why during this regatta. Please save the complaints for after the regatta and then please email them to us so we can take all opinions into consideration.
