Does ORRA Offer Adaptive Events at the Secret City Head Race?
ORRA is delighted to include inclusive events at the Secret City Head Race. We will provide both Inclusive 2x (Saturday:Event 53: Mixed Masters 2x) and Sunday:Event 111: Mixed Masters Inclusive 4+, and are happy to consider other events. Please contact us with those requests.
How do coaches and athletes receive timely announcements affecting the race schedule o other regatta operational items?
ORRA will provide a text-message based service for SCHR using GroupMe to distribute inforrmation of iinterest to coaches. This service will be used to communicate information to coaches and other participants throughout the Event. It is a hidden/no-approval/announce-only text message service. We'll close and delete it after the event.
Does the coxswain for a U15 event need to also meet the requirements for a U15 athlete?
From the Event Packet, "Coxswains may be of either sex for any event. Coxswains may be at any experience level. No weight restrictions apply. Coxswains are not required to weigh-in. Youth coxswains cannot jeopardize their college eligibility." As the Event Packet is silent on the question of coxswain age, the Secret City Head Race will not require coxswains to also meet the USRowing definition for a U15 athlete.
