Dear Rowers,

It is with a sad heart that I have to tell you that this year’s edition of the Sarasota Invitational Regatta will not be held.  Given the alterations to the venue for the Sarasota Circus (which is supposed to return to its normal site next year!), there was insufficient space to properly and safely run the regatta in the manner to which we aspire and you have come to expect.  The complications of the Covid-19 virus were also a factor, but we were prepared to deal with those in an appropriate manner.  You should be able to get a full refund from Regatta Central (we will pickup the cost of any merchant processing fees).  We look forward to hosting you in 2023 over the last weekend of February.  Good luck with this year’s season!

New SafeSport Requirement for all rowers 18 or older!  Needed to participate in regattas.  Here is what you will need to do:

Access SafeSport with this link:  https://safesporttrained.org/#/dashboard

Click on Login, then “Sign Up”. Create a user name and password.

Once registered, Log In and select the Catalog

To locate the short course, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find a horizontal list of courses, then scroll to the right all the way to the end.  That’s the one. Took all of 30 minutes.  Yes, you have to pay attention!  There’s a test at the end which, if you don’t pass, you get relegated to third grade!

USRowing will scan the SafeSport database for completed sessions and update your compliance file on Regatta Central.  Be sure to use the same name you use on Regatta Central!
