UPDATE: The long course for the 43rd Annual Open Ocean Regatta has been changed from the Diablo Course to a new, as yet unnamed course, out of consideration of the ebb tide.

April 11, 2019 - SKIPPERS MEETING

Gordie Nash, The Founder of the 43rd Annual Open Ocean Regatta, will give a Skipper's Meeting at the boathouse on Thursday, April 11th from 7:30p - 830p. Learn more about:

  • Getting to the Starting Area
  • Starting Procedure
  • Looking for the Currents/Tides
  • Picking the Right Course
  • Mark rounding
  • Final approach to the Finish line
  • Questions and answers

This will be an informative talk and all participants are encouraged to attend - refreshments will be served!

April 12, 2019 - REGATTA PREP CLINIC

Ellen will teach this Open Ocean Regatta clinic on Friday April 12, from 8:00a-9:30a.

Areas to be covered include:

  • Understanding the start: getting there.

  • Finding a position

  • knowing your technique

  • pacing and maintaining a course

This class is limited to 6 people. You must be participating and registered in this year's Open Ocean Regatta (4/14) to enroll. 

The $25 fee does NOT include use of a shell. Please remember to reserve your shell!
