Erg Rodeo General Information and EventRestrictions



Schedule of Events

All eventswill take place on a bank of ten Concept2 Model D Ergometers. You mayuse the damper setting of your choice, but the setting may not bechanged during the race. Thirty-two Concept2 Model C Ergometers willbe available for warming up. All collegiate events will be run withthe open events (see event restrictions: collegiate) and all women'sevents will be held first in each category.

6:30 AM: Race DayRegistration, Check-In, and Weigh-In begins.

Mixed Open 8+ Relay

Allindividual events are 2000 meters and all times listed areapproximate. In events requiring multiple heats, we will attempt togroup competitors from slowest to fastest, in ascending order, basedon entry-form predicted times. All competitors will pull only onceand racing should conclude no later than 2:30PM. Please plan toarrive at least one hour before your event so that check-in,warm-ups, and racing can all run smoothly. There will be two callsfor the start of each heat: a 20-minute warning followed by a10-minute warning.

Pleasenote that you must register and check in for your event at least onehour prior to the scheduled time. Athletes who register later thanone hour before their event may be able to race in that event, or alater scheduled event, but will not be eligible for a trophy orbuckle.

Event Restrictions

Class Divisions:

NoviceEvents are restricted to first-year rowers.

LightweightEvents (165 lbs or less for men; 135 lbs or less for women) arerestricted to competitors who have verified their weight on race dayat the Weigh-In table beginning at 7am.

CoxswainEvent participants must be primarily a coxswain (be honest!).There are no age or weight restrictions.

JuniorEvents are restricted to competitors enrolled in grades6-12.

Open Events
have no age restrictions and willinclude collegiate events.

Masters Events participantsare restricted to entering the appropriate age category.

Relays:

Relayswill be 8500 meters long, with 8 rowers each responsible for 1000meters and 1 coxswain rowing 500 meters. Each team will use oneergometer and a total time will be taken (including rower switches).Participation is free to anyone entered in other Erg Rodeo events.There are no age or weight limits, however, a true coxswain isrequired. Teams must have 9 members: 8 rowers (at least 4 of whommust be women) and 1 coxswain.



Weigh-Infor Lightweights:

Lightweightsmust weigh-in on race day at least one hour before their scheduledstart time. Competitors who do not make weight will be placed in theappropriate heavyweight category.

Food andApparel:

Food andTexas Crew apparel will be available for purchase at the event. Allpurchases will be cash or check only; sorry but no credit cards!

Awardsand Prizes:

TheCoveted Trophy Buckles will be awarded to the male and female winnersin the following events: Fastest Overall Men's and Women's Masters,All Open/Collegiate Events, Male and Female Coxswains, and FastestOverall Men's and Women's Juniors.

Trophieswill be awarded to winners in those events not eligible for buckles.If an athlete wins the 'overall' award for their category, and abuckle, they will not be eligible for a trophy.
A TravellingTrophy will be awarded to the winners of the Mixed Open 8+ Relay.

Interpretationof Rules:

Themeaning and application of this information will be determined solelyby the Erg Rodeo Planning Committee and all decisions will be final.Schedules will be updated, as needed, based on entries.
