Ontario Ergometer Championships

  • Hosted By: Ridley Graduate Boat Club

Hiigh School events

Entries are to be made in the name of the High School, unless a situation requires racing as Unaffiliated (not club).  Please make sure to spell names correctly, and have correct birthdates.  Junior High School age is born in 2002 or later, and Senior H.S. age is born in 1999 or later.  High School weight limits for girls are 135lbs, 145lbs and open; and for boys the weight limits are 150 lbs, 165 lbs and Open.  Weigh-ins are from 7:30 am until race time.

NOTE:  Each year we can have over 25 rowers who do not make weight, which is a difficult problem for the computer and timing teams.  Make sure to enter in the proper category, having read the rules and checked your weight.  This year, rowers that must change category on race day, due to not making weight or entering the wrong category will NOT be able to qualify for Top Ten Shirts or medals.  Times will be taken but will be added AFTER the regatta in their proper category.

Open & Masters events

Entries can show the name of the club, fitness facility or even unaffiliated.  Weight limits for Lightweight events are 135 lbs for women and 165 lbs for men.  For Masters medals are given to each Age Group Winner (30-42, 43-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69), plus a lightweight medal.

Late Entries

Anyone wanting to register AFTER the deadline, must come to registration with the late entry fee of $25.00 (no credit card, only cash or cheques), and be placed into an available lane (IF AVAILABLE).   A signed waiver form is required, which can be signed at registration.  Entries paid AFTER the deadline are also charged the late entry fee.

Weigh-ins

Weigh-ins open at 7:30, with scales open all day.  Rowers can weigh in at any before their race, and can weigh multiple times if needed.  There will be 2 scales (1 for Men and 1 for Women) available.

Coaching

There will be a rope around the racing area, and coaching is from outside the rope.  Regatta coxies will record times, in addition to assisting when necessary.  Noone other than competitors and workers are allowed inside the racing area.  There is a large bleacher area for spectators, and all can view the big screen to watch the race in progress.
