UPDATE:  TRAILER PARKING INFO

Shell trailer parking for 2017 Speakmon Regatta

The Speakmon Regatta is taking place on Sunday, October 29, 2017.  The Blake Haxton Regatta is taking place on Saturday, October 28, 2017.  Both regattas are using the same venue.  Access to the regatta site for Speakmon-only use is not available until the Haxton Regatta has completed and trailers start to move out of the staging area.

Because of this access restriction, we ask that Speakmon-only shell trailers arrive no earlier than 5:30 PM on Saturday, October 28th.  Shell trailer access is noted on the map here and Google Map coordinates are here:  40.016599, -83.091302.  Google Maps link:  https://www.google.com/maps/dir/40.016771,-83.0917361/40.0166231,-83.0913202/@40.0165767,-83.0922613,358m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

NOTE that one-way traffic will be observed on the park road from south to the north for trailer and chuck wagon traffic.

Due to space limitations, tow vehicles will be required to un-hitch and leave the regatta site.  Parking for tow vehicles is located at the north end of the regatta site and is designated on the map here.

Volunteers will be on site, starting at 5:30 PM on Saturday, October 28th to help trailer drivers into the regatta site.   Volunteers will also be on site starting around 5:30 AM on Sunday morning to assist with trailer parking.

The regatta site can hold approximately 14 trailers.  Once the main regatta site has reached capacity, trailers will be directed to park along the road within the park.  Trailers should park with 2 wheels (passenger side) on the grass and 2 wheels (driver side) on the roadway pavement.  We will try to keep trailers as close to the regatta site as possible.

Any teams that want to leave the regatta early on Sunday (before racing is complete) should ask to park along the road and not use the regatta site.  Because of the large number of participants, we will not allow trucks / trailers to move out of the regatta site before the end of racing.

When leaving the regatta site, all trailers should use the stoplight at Nottingham Road.  Traffic on Riverside Drive can be very heavy and using the stop light will provide the safest means of leaving at the end of the day.
