All lightweight athletes should weigh in to verify that they are under the posted weights for AYCI at the Finish Line Tower between 7:00am-10:00am.
AYCI weights of athletes:
Lightweight women - 135 lbs.
Lightweight men - 155 lbs.
Friday Practice: The practice window will be Friday 2/16 from 3:30pm-6:00pm. You can arrive with your trailer anytime after noon on Friday. Please schedule your trailer dropoff with Sarah Kupiec at [email protected].
Awards: Medals are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each event at AYCI. Points are awarded based on finishing order in each race (refer to information packet for specific point totals awarded). Crews who earn the highest number of points in a specific event at the conclusion of AYC IV are named the AYC winner for that event, and awarded the coveted AYC coin. All events raced within the regatta contribute towards the AYC Team Cup given to the team with the highest accumulated number of points at the conclusion of AYC IV.
Travel stipend elligibility: crews racing in events that are included in the USRowing Youth National Championship are elligible for travel stipends towards their participation in the 2018 Youth National Championship. To earn the travel stipend, crews must earn the highest amount of points for the specific event they qualify for at the YNC. In other words, you must be named the AYC winner, qualify for that event at this year's YNC, and accept your entry.
A Mile in Those Shoes will have a tent set up in the vendor village at AYC I from 10am-2pm. They will be collecting clothing items for men, women, and children as well as shoes in gently used condition. They have also implemented a "Give Options Program" that for every 3 used articles of clothing that one donates one can choose to receive a new article of clothing which has been given to our organzation by Fluidesign or Sashka Co. One can also just donate clothing and not receive anything in return or one may receive a coupon to purchase certain items from Fluidesign at a discount.
