Due to the larger number of entries this year, we changed the time trial format for some races. We split some races into two consecutive flights. This was done because last year we had some potentially unsafe situations with boats piling up at the finish line. With even more entries, we wanted to make sure we avoided this situation. Because the canal does not have as much area as some racing venues, we also want to moderate the flow of boats down and up the canal.
For the progression, the four fastest times, out of both flights combined together, will advance to the semifinals.
