July 2nd. Entries are now open. As you can see the 'schedule' is not so much a schedule but a bare bones list of events. We will divide each catagory (say 'boys 4x's') into smaller groups as needs and entries demand. This regatta is small enough, and most teams have such a shortage of sculling gear that fits small people that make the schedule for this regatta once the entries are in. When you are done putting your entries on Regattacentral, send an email to Matt Hopkins at [email protected] and write up a short description of each entry (ie: 'My 'A' entry in the boys 4x is a crew of experienced 8th graders', 'My 'C' entry in the girls 1x is going to be a 6th grader, started rowing this summer, and weighs 70 lbs' ), and any equipment sharing issues you have (ie: 'I only have one quad, can you separate the boys and girls quads?) or re-rowing situations. Generally speaking we do our best to make sure that everyone can row a team boat event (2x/4x) and a singles event. Do not presume that your rowers will be able to row both a 4x and a 2x. The regatta is too small to be dragged out over a whole day and a morning is too short to work in 3 races per athlete. Depending on conditions (heat, wind), we do reserve the right to shorten the distance (1000m) for the singles races at the end of the day. Last year we had whole events of singles at the end of the morning that had had only a couple of hours since their last race and we shorted the course for safety's sake. Once we have that info we will divide up each catogory (say Girls 4x) into appropriate events (say Novice and Experienced, or 7th & 8th graders and 5th & 6th graders) depending on what entries we have.
