Races with 8 or more entries automatically draw a semifinal, the top 4 times from the heats advance to semifinal and are seated 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3, the winner of each semifinal advances to the final.
Races with 7 or less entries do not draw a semifinal, the top 2 times from the heats advance to the final.
