What?  

Seattle's popular kickoff to head race season -- 5.5-kilometer head race for rowers and paddlers of canoes, kayaks and dragon boats.

When/Where?

Sunday,Sept. 19

Competitive rowing -- 7:30 a.m.,  Lake Union via Lake Washington Ship Canal. (See Venue page.)

Timetable at Pocock Rowing Center, 3320 Fuhrman Ave. E, Seattle, WA 98102

       Coach/cox meeting -- 6 a.m. 

       Awards ceremony/breakfast --  9:15 a.m. 

       Packet/T-shirt pickup -- 9 a.m.-noon and 5-6 p.m. Saturday. (Pickup before race day is highly encouraged!)

       Race day pickup -- 5:30 a.m.

Why?

Since 2000, rowers and paddlers have raised $413,000 to help the Puget Sound Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure deliver its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever . This year's goal again is $100,000.
