Location
The 2010 Methuen City Sprints will be held at the Essex Rowing training facilities (also known as Pirates Cove Marina) in Methuen, MA at 656 Lowell Street.
Course
All races will be run over a 1000 meter course with the exception of the Dash events which will be 500 meters. The course is four lanes and starts will be from a stake boat. There will bouys marking each lane at the 500 meter and 1000 meter marks. Racing will begin at the northern tip of Pine Island and will finish near Norm's White Horse.
Heats and Finals
Heats will be run for all events with 4 or more entries. All finals will begin at approximately 12:45 pm.
Parking
Parking is available across the street from the marina in Griffin Brook Park. Teams that will be bringing a trailer should contact Travis Gardner at [email protected] to reserve a spot.
Online Registration
Registrations will be accepted at RegattaCentral through July 23, 2010 at midnight PST. Please direct all specific inquiries about the online registration process to RegattaCentral. For general Methuen City Sprints inquiries, please contact the Regatta Director.
Athlete Classification
Junior participants must have been born on or after January 1, 1992 or are currently enrolled in a secondary school.
Participation in Open events is unrestricted.
Masters participants should enter the appropriate event based on age as of race day.
Entry Confirmation and Race Schedule
Entry confirmation will be posted on RegattaCentral in real-time. A preliminary heat sheet will be provided to coaches by July 25, 2010 at midnight PST.
Results
Finish order will be posted immediately following each event at the marina building. Unofficial results with finish times will be posted as quickly as they are available. Complete Official Results will be up on the Essex Rowing,RegattaCentral, and Row2k websites within 24 hours after the races conclude.
Interpretation of Rules
The meaning and application of theserules will be determined solely by the Regatta Director. All decisionsand deliberations will be secret, arbitrary, and final.
