Classifications:
Novice: Must not have competed until after Canadian Henley in year of race.
Junior: Age 18 years as of Dec. 31, 2008 .
Lightweight: Men, 165 lb maximum; Women, 135 lb maximum
Masters: Minimum age of 27. For crews, a handicap is awarded per R.C.A. age category based average age of the crew, not including coxies.
Adaptive: As per R.C.A. Classifications
Open: Collegiate / University - absolutley NO highschool rowers
Collegiate/University Racing
Collegiate and University entries are to race in the Open categories only. To adhere to NCAA Bylaw 13.11.1.2 Competition Against Prospective Student Athletes no junior aged (high school) athletes are allowed to compete in the Open category.
Notes:
College teams interested in competing in 'youth' events should consult with their NCAA compliance office on whether they may compete under the’subvarsity’ clause of the NCAA rule.
Single scullers who are also members of NCAA recognized rowing teams may be eligible to compete as ‘unaffiliated.’ Please consult with your NCAA compliance officer if you have questions about how this may affect you.
Medals
2-3 participants - Gold Medal Awarded
up to 4 entries - Gold and Silver Medals Awarded
5 or more entries - Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals Awarded
Masters Events - Gold Medals Awarded
