New this year -- longer course at 5.5 kilometers!

Racing in the 2009 regatta begins at 7:30 a.m. with flights through approximately 8 a.m. Rowers and paddlers start near Seattle Pacific University in the Lake Washington Ship Canal and pass beneath the Fremont Bridge into Lake Union where they follow the shoreline, make a sweeping turn at the permanent red buoy, and head north to the new finish line adjacent to Wards Cove houseboat dock at 2821 Fairview Avenue E. Spectators can view the race along the Lake Washington Ship Canal in Fremont and Lake Union Park.
Of the proceeds from each Row for the Cure, 75 percent stays in the community for education and treatment of breast cancer. The remaining 25 percent supports national breast cancer research projects.
