Good morning

Our goal at the Control Commission is to check you through as quickly as possible as you head to your race. Please help us with this goal with a few simple reminders

1) The crew is all in uniform. The uniforms need to be the same throughout the crew

2) All Athletes have Acceptable ID (See 6.5 on our Rules Page more details)

3) Footstops need to:

  • Have a strap that restricts the gap between the bottom of the shoe to the base of the footplate when pulled upward a maximum of 7cm.
  • Have a single release strap that goes across both shoes and when pulled will open the velcro on both shoes

Example of acceptable shoes

These are Quick Change Shoes NOT Quick Release Shoes and must meet the requirements as outlined above

4) Bow Ball needs to be white and firmly attached

5) Have a ball number holder firmly affixed to the boat.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the 2024 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

The Henley Regatta is pleased to announce that the Preliminary Draw for the 2024 Royal Canadian Henley Masters Regatta is now posted.

With the 2024 World Rowing Championships coming to St Catharines in just 4 weeks, the venue has undergone a number of infrastructure improvements highlighted by improvements to the network system and the construction of a New Finish Tower. All of these changes will provide many improvements to the delivery of the regatta in the years to come.

In preparing the draw, the Regatta Committee took into consideration many factors which included the feedback we received in 2023 regarding the progression system, the opportunity to test the infrastructure improvements and the information that we had provided to you, the competitors, on the regatta format. The Regatta Committee has used a placed based heats to finals progression system in creating this year’s draw. With implementing this progression system and the distribution of the entries, we have had to add additional time at points in the heats schedule based which events require heats and which event are straight finals.

The Henley Masters has seen considerable growth over the last three years and the Regatta Committee is keenly aware that the current format of the regatta requires review to provide the best possible experience for the Masters community in the future. The Regatta Committee knows we need to make changes and we are committed over this fall to seek feedback from participants and create recommendations that will go to the Henley Commission to consider both short and long term changes that will create the best possible regatta experience for all competitors.

A reminder that the regatta office will be open from 2pm-5pm for any line-up changes on Saturday July 27.

We are looking forward to a great regatta and look forward to seeing everyone for the 2024 Royal Canadian Henley Masters Regatta on Sunday July 28, 2024.

With again the Canadian Masters Championship being part of the 2024 Royal Canadian Henley Masters Regatta, Rowing Canada has confirmed that Canadian Championship medals will be given to the fastest Canadian crew. So for clarity, the crew winning each event will be given a Henley gold medal. The fastest Canadian crew in the event will be given the Canadian Championship medal.
