National Capital High School Regatta
Date: Saturday, May 28, 2022
Location: Ottawa Rowing Club, 10 Lady Grey Drive, Ottawa, Ontario
Format: 750m sprints on an un-buoyed course between the Alexandra and MacDonald-Cartier bridges on
the Ottawa River (within view of Canada’s Parliament!)
Regatta Details:
• Racing will begin at 7:45am and wrap up at noon, with races every 10 min. Every race is a final.
• Coaches’ meeting is at 7:00am in front of the boathouse
• Entries are to be completed on Regatta Central before the entry deadline of May 21, 2022, 10:00 am. The
Row Ontario and RCA seat racing fee will be applied to all entries via Regatta Central. Crew changes are to
be done in person at the registration table on regatta day by 8am.
• An entry fee of $25 per athlete is to be paid to the ORC, with a max of 3 races per athlete. This entry fee is
to be paid cash, cheque, or e-transfer ([email protected]) on-site on the regatta day, before racing begins.
• There are no lightweight events and coxswains will not be weighed.
• Event categories follow the CSSRA age groups: Senior rowers are under 19 years of age on January 1,
2022, Junior rowers are under 16 years of age on January 1, 2022.
• A Novice is a competitor who has never competed in any regatta prior to September 1, 2021. The entire
sweep or sculling crew including coxswain must be Novices as defined herein. There is no age classification
for Novice Events.
• Mixed gender crews (min. one male and min. one female) will be accommodated as the schedule will allow.
• Events with few entries may be grouped with other events
• ID may be checked at the discretion of the race organizers
• Hot seating will be accommodated at the discretion of the control commission, and where scheduling and
safety permit.
• Water, first aid, washroom facilities, race programs and parking are available on site.
• Limited food options will be available on site.
• While every attempt will be made to minimize interactions, the waterway remains publicly open

All coaches are asked to contact Zak ([email protected]) by Thursday May 19 to either
reserve one of the limited trailer spots or to make arrangements to borrow boats.
All coaches are also asked to submit their entries no later than May 21 10:00AM on Regatta Central.
Spectators will be able to view the entire race from start to finish. Please join us for an enjoyable day of
competition in Canada’s Capital as we kick off the 2022 racing season!
