Welcome to the 2020 Virtual Charlie Butt Scullers’ Head of the Potomac Regatta

 September 19-27, 2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are moving to a virtual format this year. We invite you to register and compete in as many events as you can over the nine days of the regatta. The Virtual Scullers’ Head of the Potomac will be raced on the water, on a static Concept II ergometer, or both over a distance of 4500 meters or 2250 meters for para-rowers. On-the-water events and erg events are separate events. Please select your event preference carefully. You may enter as many events as you like; there is a separate registration fee for each event. All on-the-water events are for singles only and may be rowed on any body of water suitable for rowing. 

Erg events include singles, mixed doubles, mixed quads, and mixed octuples. In team boats, all participants (including the coxswain in the Octuple) submit a time for 4500 meters. The fastest total time wins. See below for the complete list of events and eligibility rules.

Results are self-reported (additional details are located in the "Rules & Eligibility" tab for this regatta). You may make as many attempts as you’d like in the nine-day window (September 19-27). Competitor submission of results are on your honor. We recommend that you take a picture or otherwise capture your results for validation. The Regatta Committee reserves the right to request photographic evidence from the top three finishers of each event. Results submitted out of the window will not be accepted. Winners will be announced October 1.
