The executive committee of the Scholastic Rowing Association of America® Board of Trustees, with input from the Camden County Parks, has decided to cancel the 2020 Regatta. We are very concerned with the health and safety of all the coaches, athletes, parents, referees, and staff due to the ongoing impact of COVID19.
It is our hope to see all of you on the Cooper River next Memorial Day weekend, May 28th and 29th, for the 2021 Regatta.
We will still be awarding eight scholarships this year to graduating seniors. The scholarships breakdown is as follows (2) Gold $4,000, (2) Silver $2,000 and (4) Bronze $1,000 divided equally between girls and boys. Applications are submitted online at https://www.sraa.net/scholarships.html and due by May 1, 2020.
So, until next year, please stay safe and wash your hands!
We are hopeful that crews will be able to get back on the water soon. At this time we are still planning to hold the 2020 SRAA® Regatta.
We are continuing to monitor the situation as it unfolds and will make weekly updates to the website as new information becomes available.
We will come to a final decision, in accordance with federal and local guidelines, on whether the regatta will proceed in early May. In the meantime, stay safe and wash your hands!
