Schuylkill Navy Run 2019

We are excited to have you join us for this year's Schuylkill Navy Run, a Boathouse Row and Fairmount Park tradition since 1899 ... making it the OLDEST continously run cross-country event in the nation!

ROUTE

Our route is OUTBOUND (upriver) on Kelly Drive, then turning right and up Brewery Hill and through Fairmount Park.  Please check out the 5+5/8 mile course under the venue link at left.

ELIGIBILITY 

The Schuylkill Navy Run is inclusive and open to all runners - both rowers and non-rowers alike!  All Friends/Guests and New Friends are welcome to join us for this holiday tradition in Fairmout Park.

Given its history - rooted in the tradition of the clubs of the Schuylkill Navy -  "prizes" are awarded to Men/Women who are Members/Alums of the Schuylkill Navy Clubs in Open, Masters, and Junior categories; awards are also given to the top male and female guests and top male and female 1st time competitors.

All members/alums of Schuylkill Navy clubs should register under the name of the rowing club for which their program/school is affiliated.  Please review the Rules & Eligibility tab at left for the mapping of programs/schools to clubs and further notes on entry categories. 

VOLUNTEERS

If you have have friends or family attending with you, we'd love their help as volunteers on Race Day.  It's fun, light, easy work and beats standing around in the cold.  Click HERE to easily sign up.

REGISTRATION

Race day registration at Malta, 7:30 to 8:30. The race starts at 9:00 am. Entry fee goes up to $35 after Friday, Nov. 22.

PRIZES 

Each year, 60 to 100 wonderful prizes (many with hand-etched memories to memorialize individuals and organizations for years to come!) are solicited from the competitors and rowing community for those members/alums from Schuylkill Navy clubs.  These are awarded to runners in the order in which they finished until all are awarded. For over 100 years, competitors find that these prizes are what make the Schuylkill Navy Run so memorable.

We encourage all runners and competitors (or their families) to consider bringing or donating a prize. 

If you have an item you would like to donate to the Run, you can bring it to Fairmount Rowing Association at #2 Boathouse Row between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on Wed, November 27. 

Alternatively, let us do the prize-making for you ! Get your name engraved on one of these prizes and become a part of Schuylkill Navy and Boathouse Row history!
