The crews are back from the 2018 San Diego Crew Classic and the athletes are busy getting set to take on the University of Victoria at Brown Cup races and preparing for final exams. A report from this year's Crew Classic is available here.

UBC will host the Brown Cup on Saturday, April 7th at the John M.S Lecky Boathouse. The evening before, on April 6th, there will be a UBC boat christening at 5:00 pm, followed by a fireside chat with UBC Rowing coaches Mike Pearce and Craig Pond. Appetizers and beverages will be provided.

All alumni and friends of UBC Rowing are welcome to attend both the Friday evening and Saturday morning. If you are planning to attend Friday evening, please RSVP to Elizabeth Urbach - elizabeth.urbach@ubc.ca

To help you get a feel for the waterway for the race, here is a link to a video taken during a recent training session where the crews and coxswains were getting familiar with one of the trickier parts of the course.

The schedule of events for Saturday morning is as follows:

8:00-9:00 am - Alumni Races (Coffee & muffins available after the race)

9:30 am - Reserves teams launch

10:00 am - Tail of the tape - Varsity teams launch

10:15 am - Reserves races begin

10:45 am - Varsity races begin

11:15 am - Awards
