  • Victoria, BC (CAN)
  • Hosted By: Rowing Canada Aviron
  • Sanctioned by RCA (2021)

On behalf of Chair York Langerfeld and the 2021 NRC Organizing Committee (OC), Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is excited to welcome athletes, coaches and supporters to British Columbia and Elk Lake – the site of the 2021 National Rowing Championships Regatta. Racing will be held on Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13. Official training is available from the afternoon of Thursday November 11 (and before and after racing each day). Note: The morning of Sunday November 14 is a contingency session for bad weather.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on sport, rowing and community life in general, the 2021 NRC regatta will aim to minimize the financial and logistical impact upon all participants and the OC. Whilst RCA will be aiming to deliver a simpler, lower impact, lower footprint event, the OC and RCA are committed to delivering a safe, fair and high-quality experience for athletes and coaches. Social interactions and non-essential or high-risk situations and activities will be minimized (eg; the Canada Cup and the NRC athlete awards dinner will not be run in 2021) to allow participants to minimize accommodation and transport costs.

Please check the 'News' page for the latest information.

Note:

a) Everyone joining us on site at the NRCs is required to be fully vaccinated and show a valid government-issued photo ID. It is strongly recommended that individuals in high traffic areas wear a mask. Those entering indoor areas such as changerooms, toilets, Spracklen room, etc - should wear masks.

b) Those who are not fully vaccinated will be required to provide proof of regular Health Canada approved negative COVID tests to be completed within 72hrs of checkin, at their own expense.

c) Daily self assessments are required to be completed before arriving at the venue (each day). The link to the B.C. Health 'Self-assessment tool' can be found here.

d) People from provinces or territories other than B.C. must show an official provincially/territorially recognized vaccine record and valid government-issued photo ID. More B.C. vaccine requirement information can be found here: gov.bc.ca

e) Whilst various jurisdictions may have amended Covid19 policies recently, RCA has made the decision to retain our requirements for all attendees to be fully vaccinated.

The 2021 NRC COVID-19 Safety Plan detailing mitigating strategies in place for this event is posted here: safety.plan. On land traffic patterns or restrictions in the venue layout will be posted closer to the event.

More information is outlined and will be updated as required on the 'News' page, and will be included in Bulletin 2.

The Technical Package, Bulletin 1 and 2 links can be found on the 'News' page. Venue information (traffic patterns on water, etc.), can be found under the 'Venue' page.
