Hello and Welcome to the Head of the Christina 2018

We want to thank all the teams returning again to the regatta and thank the new teams or any who have been away for a few years and are back now.

That video is a good way to familiarize your coxies and bow seats with the course.  Speaking of coxswains we do allow and even encourage the use of experienced (non-novice) coxies in the novice races. 

The river has a good current and is tidal so it can be difficult to navigate if you are not on top of your game.

Low tide is at 5:50 AM

High tide is 11:07 AM

Low tide is 6:06

The tide will be coming in for the morning races and going out in the afternoon

The finish line is actually a little short of the traditional finish line.  It is marked by one of the large cranes along the river walk.  There is a bridge construction project affecting the usual finish line area so the course will be shortened slightly.  Instead of rowing the far end of the shops where a new bridge is being constructed we will finish before he downriver end of the shops.  There is an old crane boom turned out over the river marking the finish line plus big buoys in the water and the timers tent under the crane. 

Please use the links to the left for specific information.  Be sure to know the regatta rules and things specific to the City of Wilmington.  Most importantly, NO GRILLS, there is to be no cooking or even using grills or other things to heat food.
