The Jake Snyder Middle School Regatta is open to programs composed only of rowers and coxswains who are middle school students. Races are held on a 1,000-meter course with stake boats or start platforms. Event entries are capped.
Medals are awarded to the winning boat in each flight.
Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the fastest boats in each event, regardless of flight.
At the conclusion of races, the Jake Snyder Awards are announced at a brief ceremony. The awards are conferred on one girl and one boy from each participating program, selected by their coaches as having traits similar to Jake Snyder's. They are the regatta’s highest honor. The criteria to be used by the coaches in selecting recipients are explained at the 'News' tab.
