Learn-To-Row Session #1 (2 weeks)

All sessions are held at the boathouse. Learn the correct rowing stroke on an ergometer (AKA "erg", an indoor rowing machine), rowing terminology, the parts of the boat, and how to carry the boat to and from the dock. When we move to the water, you will learn how to get in and out of a shell, how to hold the oars, and how to begin rowing. By the end of the last class day, you should be comfortable rowing in a stable training single and in team boats, and will have begun training for fitness and strength.

Learn the fundamentals of rowing through land and water based instruction.

Read and complete all documents and forms (ensure you meet all prerequisites, i.e. age, weight limit, float and swim tests listed on the ORU LTR website) prior to making payment.
Important safety Note: The minimum age is 12 years, minimum height is 5'3", and maximum weight is 210 lb.
ORU is not currently equipped for an Adaptive Rowing Outreach Program to include physical or intellectual impairments.

Please DO NOT register for more than one session. If you have a desire to attend more than one session, sign up for the first session you can attend and then contact the coach on or before the first day of your first session to discuss your options. NO CLASS ON FRIDAY, JULY 4th.
